MIDC tree felling permission – It’s the Governing Laws Maharashtra (Urban Areas) Protection and Preservation of Trees Act, 1975.
General Process Flow
1. Online Application: Start on MIDC’s SWC portal; registration is required.
2. Select Service: Choose “Permission for Tree Felling/Trimming/Replantation.”
3. Fill Form: Complete the online application form.
4. Document Upload: Upload necessary documents.
5. Submission: Apply; receive a submission ID.
6. Inspection: Tree Officer conducts a site inspection.
7. Inspection Report: Report uploaded to the portal.
8. Public Notice: Notice inviting objections published in the local newspaper.
9. Decision by Tree Authority: Review and decision by MIDC Tree Authority.
10. Demand Note: If approved, the fees and security deposit demand note will be issued.
11. Payment: Make payment via the SWC portal.
12. Approval Letter: Digitally signed letter uploaded post-payment

Undertaking for compensatory plantation
Consent Letters (if multiple owners),
Agency Reports (if needed)
Other documents may be required as per the concerned officer.
Important Considerations
Compensatory Plantation: Required to plant new trees (same variety) for each tree felled.
Security Deposit: Per tree deposit returned after monitoring new plants for a set period.
Penalties: Severe penalties for unauthorised tree felling.
